Our parents dressed us kind of funny.
Ha! Just kidding.
But seriously, check out our awesome outfits in this old photo.
Me (center), Ashley (left), Sheena (rt). Yes our hats are awesome.
This old photo is from my friend Danielle, who moved to Colorado when I was in fifth(?) grade.
Thank God for Facebook =).
Anyway, she tagged me and my sisters and a few others and it brought back a flood of memories.
I was the luckiest kid alive growing up.
I grew up on a street that had kids my own age to play barbies, ride bikes and go swimming with. Our parents all knew each other and we got to spend the night at each other's homes. From 8am to 6pm we were outside playing. Of course we stopped for lunch (sometimes!) but the reality was that we didn't want to be cooped up indoors.
We wanted to be where the action was. To be grounded from playing outside meant death to us.
Not so anymore.
It makes me sad that I rarely see kids playing outside. Even the parks seem empty. I know things are not the same. It appears crimes against children only seem to be increasing. Video games and indoor activities are high on the priority list of kids and families are busier and streets are becoming less family friendly. *sigh*
I want my babies to experience the kind of childhood I had growing up. I am feeling a sort of nostalgic longing for the days of old.
What was your childhood like?
Tiff~
