Some Things Just Make You Stupid Happy

Like the fact that I saw a totally cool shirt at Target the other day for only $4.oo....and they didn't have Sean's size. 

Typical. 

I was sad.

And my sweet friend Melissa stopped at a Target and tried to find it for me in Sean's size, but alas it was not there.

Then today, oh glorious today.

I opened up a bag my FIL dropped off and said that my MIL found some things in the trailer from our trip, along with a few other things she picked up.

And I saw this:

Y'all, this shirt is straight up AWESOME! ;) It made me do the happy dance and yes, I did post a picture of this shirt on facebook.

Don't judge.

Why Didn't Anyone Tell Me!

The other day my beautiful friend Sheena emailed me pictures from my baby shower that was held in May.  I realize it is a tad bit late since Sean is now here, but I enjoyed viewing them none the less.

But there was one photo that, quite frankly, freaked me out.

Okay folks....so what exactly am I freaking out about? 

Back fat. 

What the heck??? Is this what I looked like from behind? Oh my gosh!  My back is bulging out of my dress.  And NO ONE TOLD ME!

Now I realize that doesn't exactly roll off someone's tongue so easily.  "Excuse me, but you have back fat. Just thought you should know. Xoxo!"

I get it.  But it was just a little startling to see in pictures.

And here is where you realize that I am just a tad vain.  I apologize if you thought I was perfect.  Which I am sure you all did.

The shower was fantastic

 

My friends threw me an amazing shower on Saturday and I was absolutely spoiled by those I loved.  BBH received a ton of clothes....plus some fun goodies to help keep him occupied.  I truly cannot wait for his arrival.

My friends Michelle and Sheena took a ton of pics (I did not...shame on me!) So hopefully soon I can see those and I will deliver a huge party post.  For now though I want to ask for your prayers as I am dealing with an awful head cold the last couple of weeks and it just won't go away.  I am thinking that I will need to go on leave a couple of weeks ahead of schedule just to get myself back up to par.  I cannot be sick for BBH's arrival.  Labor is a lot of work! 

Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated this journey with me.  I cannot wait til the day he is here. You can be sure we will have updates on this blog when I am at the hospital.

These two amazing gals are throwing a baby shower for me and BBH.  I am so extremely blessed to have these two in my life and I cannot wait to hang out with them, as well as hanging out with my dearest friends and family.  To celebrate the pending arrival of a new little one is so amazing and joyous and I am so extremely fortunate that I have people in my life who love and care for me and my son that they want to celebrate his life with me. 

To those who are coming I cannot wait to see you! Thank you so much Michelle and Sheena for doing this. Get ready to party!!!!!!

I So Want To Cloth Diaper Our Son

So I have posted on here before that I am really, really wanting to cloth diaper BBH.   I have mentioned this to quite a few friends and family and I am pretty sure they think this is just some sort of fad that I plan on jumping on and then not following through with.   And I have gotten quite a few bewildered looks from folks when I mention cloth diapers. 

But I really, really want to cloth diaper our son. 

The biggest hurdle I have is convincing my husband about them.  He is not about cloth diapers.  Heck he doesn't even like the smell of disposable diapers and he can't stand changing  them! Diaper duty is not Dan's thing.  I am slowly coming to terms with that. It isn't easy.....but I am learning that he just doesn't like to do it if I am around.  *sigh*

So guess who will be changing most of the diapers when BBH is born? *smile*

Anyway, I have done the research about cloth diapers and I have heard a ton of great things about them.  They are far easier to use then when our folks had them.  And there are a lot of different types of cloth diapers that you can choose from. Just pick the system that is best for your family.  I know many people are concerned about the extra amount of laundry that they will have to do, but I have read that if you invest in enough diapers up front, then you really will only have to wash them every couple of days or so.  It really depends on how many diapers you have on hand.  And quite frankly....I would rather spend more upfront on diapers then having to spend $25 a box every couple of weeks because the kid poops and pees all the time!  I read somewhere that parents can spend anywhere from $2000 and up on disposable diapers in the first 2 years of their life!  Do you know what you could buy with $2000???

I do...and it doesn't include  diapers!  (I am totally staring at my bare closet!)

The only hard part is convincing the man of the house.  Maybe I will just have to compromise and keep some disposables for him whenever I have to be out without the kids.  *wink*

This is my vent for today

Why the heck are maternity bathing suits so freaking ugly?  And expensive?  I was looking at this website and I just got ticked off looking at them. I just can't picture myself in any of them!

It is bad enough I already feel like a beached whale....do you really need to make suits that make us feel worse?

60 Days Left!

I am currently 31 weeks pregnant and I have about 6o days left until BBH arrives.  Man I am soooooo excited! I can't even tell.

Btw, I think it is time I posted a new belly pic don't you? Because let me tell you folks I am HUGE ;)

I have FINALLY decided on the type of cloth diapers I want to use for BBH.  I have decided to go with Kissaluvs size 0 for the newborn stage and I will be using the Thirsties diaper covers.  When he gets bigger than 15 lbs then I am switching to the Bumgenius All In Ones because those are most like a disposable and I am constantly reading great reviews about them.  I really can't wait to wrap BBH in these diapers.  Dan on the other hand is not so excited. So needless to say whenever we are traveling or he is alone with baby....we will have disposables. ;)  Sometimes you just have to compromise. 

I found out my precious MIL bought our double stroller.  I am so happy!!!!!!  I love this stroller and when I went to go test it out I loved how light it was. Now I didn't have both babies in it, but it was really easy to put away and it will fit in the trunk of my car.  The stroller will mostly be used when we go on outings such as Disneyland, the park, beach etc.  Oh I am so excited.  Thank you Mom Harper!

I still haven't really purchased too many other things for BBH as money is a tad tight right now.  Plus, our place that we are currently in doesn't give us  a lot of room to store his extras so I have to wait a little longer. We basically have the essentials. We have a Pack and Play/Bassinet so when he arrives he does have a place to sleep. We will have clothes for him, diapers, me and the pump (haha) So basically we have what we need. Everything else is really just extra. Praise the Lord we may have a place to move into in a few months but nothing is finalized yet.  Hoping all of that is cleared soon so that we have some idea of where we will be moving to.  Keep praying if you think of us!
