Hello friends!
I apologize for not writing yesterday. I had quite a busy day and something very exciting to share with all of you....but I need to wait just a little bit. =)
Did you all vote? How did you feel about the outcome of the elections? Now that they are finally over (and some of my regularly scheduled shows can come back!) we now must be able to move on, pray for President Elect Barack Obama and watch what he brings to the table. We should always be paying attention to the direction our country we live in is going and if we ever feel like we disagree...no whining! Act! But remember to pray and trust in the One who still reigns. =)
Yesterday afternoon I had a doctor's appointment (that is not part of the exciting news) and then came home to find something absolutely fantastic at my door:
The gorgeous Pink Dyson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been eyeing a dyson FOREVER. Daniel finally said I could get one since our old vacuum has literally died and our floors were rapidly becoming covered in dirt and hair. It was a really sad sight. So I ripped open that box and I put it together and vacuumed oh so happily across my carpet. It works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hallelujah! Of course my husband is a little appalled that I bought the Dyson in pink...but hey it was late October and it was for a good cause *wink*
Onto other news....I need some creative brain power. Illuminate (our college and young adult group) will be kicking off a brand new series in January. The premise of the series to talk about our identities in Christ. Often times in church, christians will hear mostly about the do's and don'ts of being a "believer" or "walking with the Lord." We feel that perhaps maybe that is a little backward. Not wrong, but maybe if we taught more christians about who they are in Christ, help them to reclaim that identity and not cling to the identity the world has sold them, then the do's and don'ts may be easier to understand or perhaps even follow!
We just need a name.....a title for the series that will really drive the point home and encourage our students to want to know who they are in Christ. I LOVE the idea of pointing out that our identity is missing, stolen, taken etc. So any ideas you guys have would be awesome! =)
I want to end this post with a challenge I recently committed myself to. One of my favorite blogs is Angie Smith. Many of you have heard their story and were completely moved to tears by the grace of God. She has a challenge for each mother to be praying over their children, seven prayers a day. She has offered a list of scriptures that she took and adapted to prayers and they can be said at certain points of the day. I truly encourage each of you who have little ones to clothe your children in prayer and give them up to the Lord each day. We are to teach and train our children in His ways....and what better way to be an example to little eyes and hearts by saying our prayers out LOUD for them to hear. So they can know and hear what true worship to our Lord is like. So go check it out!
Love you all!
Tiff~
