Oh to be a mommy!
I had the best Mother's Day on Sunday. My hubby woke up early with Madison and made me breakfast in bed.
Simply delicous. Although I didn't really get to eat any of those strawberries on my plate as there was a certain little person standing right next to the bed sneaking them off my plate.
Tried to catch her in the act...hence the blurry photo. But doesn't her cute face say it all! LOL!
Then we headed over to my in-laws house to spend some time with Dan's family. My Mom was not feeling well, so we were unable to see her this weekend. =( We are hoping she feels better soon so Madi can see her other grandma. I know my mom misses her. We had a delicious lunch catered by Boston Market at my in-laws. I love Boston Market, especially their meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Yummy!
Then it was off to the beach for the Illuminate Bonfire! This was Madi's second time at the beach and her first time at night while everyone roasted marshmallows and ate smores and sang worship. She LOVED the sand.
As you can see she was trying to bury herself and everything else in sight. She definitely had a bath when we got home! I have never seen her so dirty! And boy was it cold out there! I was freezing my tush off. Madi didn't seem to mind the cold until much later when it became really dark. So we cuddled under the blankets together by the fire. So peaceful and a reminder of just how blessed I am. God has given me a husband who works hard for his family and tried to make Mother's Day the best possible for me, even though we had a lot scheduled for the day. I have a daughter who brings me absolute joy and happiness. Who reminds me of how to be a kid again and to see things with a child's perspective. God is so good.
Yesterday, Monday, Madi had her 2 year Doctor appointment. She is currently 33 lbs and 35 3/4 inches tall. Dan says she is just short of a yard stick! I can't believe how fast she has grown. She did have a Hep A shot so that made her tired and she took a long nap afterwards, which was perfect because I was able to work on cleaning up around the house, prep for dinner and even make a card for my friend Breanne who is having her baby shower this Sunday afternoon. She is having a girl and I know she is extremely excited!
Dan came home about 5:30 last night and I was able to have dinner ready for him. I wasn't able to eat with the family. I had plans to have dinner with my best friends Sheena and Michelle. We ate at the Olive Garden (always a plus) and talked about life and Michelle's upcoming wedding in August. We have been friends since the 7th grade and we often find our conversations drifting to the past and remembering what obnoxious brats we were back then. LOL! Oh and the ugly outfits we wore...oh gosh. I need to pull those out! Good times are always had with those girls! Now if I would only remember to take out the camera and take a picture!
Other than that, life is truly fabulous. I am here at work right now, but it is pretty dead and I am taking a small break to update this blog. Talk to you all later!
Tiff~
